Kabul, Afghanistan, August 30, 2024 – Afghanistan women’s national volleyball team displayed their commendable effort in gaining valuable competition experience from friendly matches ahead of their departure for the CAVA Challenge Cup.
Supported by FIVB and NOC, the Afghan team are now training hard in their preparation for the tournament and as part of their training regimen, they have been engaging in a series of friendly matches against prominent teams from Mashhad and the surrounding region. These matches serve as a crucial part of their strategy to strengthen the team’s competitive edge.
Recent friendly matches summary
1. Match against Esteghlal Poya Club: Afghanistan played a home and away series and emerged victorious with a 3-0 scoreline.
2. Match against Nafas Gonabad: Afghanistan continued their winning streak, securing another 3-0 victory.
3. Match against Shokat Khorasan: In a match played over four sets by mutual agreement, the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
4. Match against Pazash Volleyball School: Despite their efforts, they succumbed to 1-3 loss in this match.
Aside from the aforementioned four, some other friendlies against well-known teams from Mashhad and the province have also been planned in the coming days. These games have been regarded as an essential part of their final preparation before their departure for the CAVA Challenge Cup.
