Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, May 11, 2024 – Al-Ittihad underlined their supremacy over the Saudi Arabia’s Elite Volleyball Cup for the first time in their history after a dramatic 3-1 win against Al-Hilal in the final showdown of the tournament at Al-Ittihad Club Hall on Thursday.
Dr Khaled Al-Zughaibi, President of Saudi Arabian Volleyball Federation and Chairman of the SAVF Board of Directors, presided over the awards ceremony to present the eventual champions Al-Ittihad with the prestigious Cup following their comeback 20-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-21 win in front of a large number of supportive fans of both sides at the venue.
The match was officiated by international referee Yaqoub, assisted by second referee, Ahmed Al-Qarni, and third international referee, Sami Amin, while another international referee, Amin Al-Tarifi, observed the match.
Al-Hilal picked up silver medals, presented by SAVF Vice President Saad Al-Ruwais and Board of Directors Member Ibrahim Al-Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, Al-lttihad members Abdul Mohsen Al-Obaid and Bassem Mangal presented Al-Ahli with bronze medals after 3-1 (25-21, 25-16, 16-25, 25-21) rout of Al-Ibtisam to finish third place. Al-Ibtisam came in fourth place.
