Police got off to a strong start with the comfortable 25-18 in the first set, but dominant Al-Rayyan bounced back aggressively to win the next two sets 25-18, 25-20, and stormed on to take three sets in a row 25-17 and the 3-1 match for the eventual title.

This victory has marked Al-Rayyan’s first Qatar Cup title since the 2021/2022 season, having lost the final in the previous season to Al-Arabi. The QVA President praised both teams for their high-level performances and emphasized the ongoing development of volleyball in Qatar.
With this achievement, Al-Rayyan further cemented their status as one of the top volleyball clubs in the country and head into future competitions with confidence and ambition.
Al-Rayyan, which had already captured 16 titles in Emir Cup and two (2023, 2024) titles in the West Asian Men’s Club Championship apart from a second-place finish in the 2013 and 2014 Asian Club Championships, will next test their mettle in the AVC Men’s Champions League, a bold rebrand of the annual Asian Club Championship.
The AVC Men’s Champions League is due to be held in Osaka and Kyoto, Japan from May 11 to 18, 2025, inviting top 12 teams across the continent including two teams from hosts Japan to battle it out for top honour and the shared USD50,000 prize money in the eight-day competition. Top two teams from this top-tier event will make the cut for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship.
At the AVC Men’s Champions League in Japan, 12 teams were divided into four pools of three teams apiece for the pool round-robin preliminaries. Only top two teams from each pool will advance to the quarterfinals.
