Mr Ali bin Ghanem Al-Kuwari, President of the Qatar Volleyball Association, presented gold medals and achievement plaque to Al-Sadd Club as they emerged as the eventual champions of the 2nd Senior Men’s Beach Volleyball League following their total 32 points earned to top the overall League standing.
Mr Mohamed Salem Al-Kuwari, QVA Member of the Board of Directors, gave away silver medals to the second-place Al-Shamal team, which bagged 20 points, and Mohamed Anbar Al-Nasser, a member of the Beach Volleyball Committee, presented bronze medals to the third place Al-Arabi team with 19 points claimed.
This season’s matches were held at Al Gharafa beach stadiums, amid precautionary measures taken by the Qatar Volleyball Association to limit the spread of the COVID-19.
The final day of the Beach Volleyball League witnessed an exhibition match that brought together Al Sadd and Al Shamal, which ended with the latter’s victory in two sets against one, and Qatar’s team also beat Al Gharafa by two straight sets.
By the end of November 28 matches, Al Sadd team topped the league standings, Al Shamal Club were ranked second, with Al Arabi in third place, Qatar fourth, Al Rayyan fifth, Al Khor sixth, Al Gharafa seventh, Al Wakrah eighth, and Al Ahli ninth respectively.
