In terms of the 2024 Asian Underaged Volleyball Championships, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand will kick off the AVC’s first event in the 15th Asian Women’s U18 Volleyball Championship from June 16 to 23, 2024. Nakhon Pathom, a city in central Thailand around 50km west of its capital city Bangkok, is no stranger to volleyball competitions as it had already hosted several major competitions including the FIVB World Grand Prix in 2011, Asian Women’s Clubs Championship in 2014, AVC Cup for Men in 2022 and Asian Underaged Championships.
In the second event, China has already confirmed to host the 22nd Asian Women’s U20 Volleyball Championship between July 1 to 8, with the host city yet to be confirmed.
The third event goes to Chinese Taipei when Taipei is set to organize the 22nd Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship during July 20 and 27, while Manama, Bahrain was awarded hosting rights for the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship from July 28 to August 4, making their debut efforts of staging the Asian U18 event.
Bahrain has already hosted the Asian Men’s U20 Championship for three times in 2014 (Manama), 2018 (Riffa) and 2022 (Riffa), but never organized the Asian Men’s U18 Championship before. Iran hosted the previous 2022 edition in Tehran, where Japan pulled off a scintillating 3-0 victory against hosts Iran to be crowned the eventual champions and make it three in a row in the biennial competition (2017, 2018 and 2022, while 2020 edition in Shiraz, Iran was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic).
Regarding the Asian Senior events, all AVC affiliated National Federations have been confirmed that the Asian volleyball-governing body has already inked a contract with VolleyballWorld (VW), a partnership between the FIVB and the CVC Capital Partners aimed at driving growth, innovation, and investment in volleyball around the globe. AVC and VolleyballWorld are currently in the process of finalizing the host nations of the 2024 Asian Club Championships and AVC Challenge Cup for Men and Women. Once all championships are finalized, AVC will keep all Federations informed of further updates.
The four Asian Senior events comprise the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship from April 13 to 20, the 2024 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship during April 21 and 28, the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup for Women between May 25 and June 1 and the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup for Men from June 2 to 9, with all aforementioned competition dates subject to change.
