AVC President Meets Indonesian Officials Ahead of Proliga 2026 and AVC Champions League

Pontianak, Indonesia — Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) President Ramon Suzara attended the Proliga 2026 Gala Dinner in Pontianak, where he met with key Indonesian officials to discuss preparations and coordination for upcoming continental volleyball events to be hosted in the region.

During the meeting, AVC President Suzara held discussions with Mr. Ria Norsan, Governor of West Kalimantan; Mr. Pipit Rismanto, Chief of Police of West Kalimantan; and Mr. Heyzer Harsono, Secretary of the Volleyball Federation of Indonesia (PBVSI). Talks focused on coordination among stakeholders, government support, and security arrangements for the upcoming AVC Champions League, which will be staged in the region.

Local authorities reaffirmed their full commitment to the successful hosting of the AVC Champions League and future AVC competitions, underscoring the importance of close collaboration between the AVC, the national federation, and local government agencies.

The discussions came as the AVC confirmed details of its 2026 international calendar, with the season set to open with the AVC Women’s Champions League from April 26–30 in Goyang, Korea, followed by the AVC Men’s Champions League from May 13–17 in Pontianak, Indonesia. The tournaments will feature Asia’s top women’s and men’s club teams and highlight Indonesia’s growing role as a key host nation for major continental volleyball events.

The meeting reflected a shared vision between the AVC and Indonesian stakeholders to further strengthen the growth and development of volleyball in Indonesia and across Asia through well-organized, secure, and high-level international competitions.
