AVC REACHES NEW MILESTONE WITH THE LAUNCH OF AVC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Bangkok, Thailand, February 14, 2025 – AVC President Ramon Suzara on Friday announced the unveiling of the AVC Champions League in partnership with Volleyball World, a bold rebrand of the annual Asian Club Championships, with eye-catching logo that reflects the AVC’s commitment to strive for something better and greater with more challenges and thrills.

The idea for the rebrand of the top-flight competition has been put forward by the AVC management plans to reshape the public perception of AVC events, re-engage audience and create more sponsorship opportunities. With the launch of the rebranded competition, AVC has reached a new milestone on its road to growth and development of volleyball in the region.

A maximum of 12 Asia’s top teams from all five zones in both men’s and women’s events will strut their stuff in the AVC Champions League, vying for the shared US$50,000 prize money in each event aside from two berths to compete in the 2025 FIVB Club World Championships, with the host countries still yet to be revealed.

Philippines has already been confirmed to host the AVC Women’s Champions League from April 20 to 27 with Premier Volleyball League and PNVF as organisers, while Japan will organize the men’s event between May 11 and 18 with SV.League and JVA as organisers. The hosting countries can field two teams in the eight-day contest, where all participating teams in each event will be split into four pools of three teams apiece to chase for the coveted crowns.

Drawing of lots of the AVC Champions League will be held at the AVC Headquarters (on 12th Floor, Main Building of Sports Authority of Thailand) on March 12, followed by the Press Conference.

As AVC has already announced the significant launch of the AVC Champions League, the excitement is building up as participating teams get ready for the highly-anticipated contest, while volleyball fans look forward to the electrifying competition.
