AVC Unveils 2026 International Volleyball Calendar and Host Cities

Bangkok, Thailand — The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) has officially announced its comprehensive calendar of major international volleyball events for 2026, following meetings with officials from the FIVB and Volleyball World at the AVC House in Bangkok.

The announcement confirms both the competition schedule and host cities across the continent, setting the stage for another milestone year for Asian volleyball.

The packed calendar features elite club competitions, continental championships, age-group tournaments, and the highly anticipated Asian Games, with events taking place across East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East from April to October.

The 2026 season will open with the AVC Women’s Champions League from April 26–30 in Goyang, South Korea, followed by the AVC Men’s Champions League scheduled for May 13–17 in Pontianak, Indonesia, showcasing Asia’s top women’s and men’s club teams.

National team competitions will intensify in June, beginning with the AVC Women’s Cup from June 6–14 in Candon, Philippines, before the AVC Men’s Cup takes place from June 20–28 in Ahmedabad, India.

Youth tournaments will follow in July, highlighting the AVC’s continued investment in grassroots and long-term development. The AVC Girls’ U18 Volleyball Championship will be held from July 1–7 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, while the AVC Boys’ U18 Volleyball Championship is scheduled for July 12–18 in Manama, Bahrain.

The latter part of the calendar will feature Asia’s premier continental competitions, starting with the AVC Volleyball Women’s Continental Championship from August 21–30 in Tianjin, China, followed by the AVC Volleyball Men’s Continental Championship from September 4–13 in Fukuoka, Japan.

The year will culminate with volleyball competitions at the 20th Asian Games, with the women’s tournament set for September 16–22, followed by the men’s competition from September 27 to October 3, both to be staged in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan.

AVC President Ramon Suzara expressed optimism and enthusiasm for the upcoming season, citing the strong momentum and steady progress of volleyball across the region.

“We are very excited to present an action-packed and competitive Asian volleyball calendar for 2026,” Suzara said. “These events reflect the continued progress of Asian volleyball—from grassroots and youth development to elite continental and multisport competitions. The growing quality of play, wider regional participation, and increasing global recognition show that Asian volleyball is moving forward with strength and confidence.”

In addition to the indoor volleyball calendar, the AVC also announced the opening of the bidding process for the 2026 Asian Beach Volleyball Championships, which will serve as a qualification event for the LA 2028 Olympic Games. Interested national federations will be invited to submit their bids in accordance with AVC guidelines, with further details to be released in the coming weeks.

With host countries and cities now confirmed, the AVC’s 2026 calendar underscores the confederation’s commitment to expanding opportunities, strengthening competition pathways, and elevating the standard of volleyball throughout Asia.
