Just over a week after claiming gold in Vietnam, New Zealand’s beach volleyball duo Liv MacDonald and Shaunna Polley have done it again… this time winning the World Beach Pro Tour Nuvali Futures event in the Philippines.
In sweltering heat and unpredictable weather, the pair remained composed and dominant, winning both their semi-final against Romania and final against Japan in straight sets (2-0). Their consistent form had fans back home glued to the livestream and cheering every point.
Last week’s Player of the Tournament, Shaunna Polley, reflected on the team’s campaign so far:
“We are super proud of our consistent performances over the last 4 weeks and are excited to bring the same energy to China next week. It’s been invaluable having access to Jason, Antonia and Craig at all of these events and we are so grateful to have them on our team. Thanks to all the continued support back home!”
This international campaign is more than just podium finishes. It’s laying a strong foundation toward World Championships qualification and future Olympic dreams.
