Manama, Bahrain, January 17, 2025 – Bahrain national team star Mohammed Yaqoob started his new journey as he became the first Bahraini player to play professionally in South Korea. The national outside hitter has signed a three-month contract with KB Insurance Stars Volleyball Club.
The 30 year-old Bahraini superstar had represented several clubs during his career in the kingdom of Bahrain. The last club team Mohammed Yaqoob played in Bahrain was Dar Kulaib Club before he joined Alkhaleej Club in Saudi Arabia earlier this season.
Yaqoob steered Bahrain national team to win the well-earned bronze medal in the 2022 AVC Cup for Men in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand aside from being honored as the Best Outside Hitter in that top-flight championship.
Once again, in the 2023 AVC Challenge Cup for Men in Chinese Taipei, Mohammed was instrumental in helping Bahrain capture silver medal in the thrilling tournament and won the Best Outside Hitter Award to his name. He also played a major role with Bahrain national team as he assisted the team to stamp their domination over the 23rd Arab Men’s Volleyball Championship last November for the third time in history following their dramatic 3-1 victory against Qatar in the much-anticipated final showdown.
