Beach Volleyball was confirmed as one of nine sports that will form the core programme for the 2023 and 2025 ANOC World Beach Games.
Beach Volleyball 4×4 featured at the inaugural ANOC World Beach Games in Doha in 2019 and was one of the standout sports at the Games. The USA won both the men’s and women’s competitions in Qatar but four different countries from three continents won medals including Brazil (Silver) and Canada (Bronze) in the women’s tournament and Qatar (Silver) and Indonesia (Bronze) in the men’s. It was the most exciting discipline at the Games and won many new fans even though it has a long history as the original format of beach volleyball.
The success of Beach Volleyball 4×4 in Qatar has led to confirmation it will appear in both 2023 and 2025. The host cities for these editions of the Games have not yet been decided with the bid process opening on 17 August 2021. A final decision on the host cities is expected on 17 December 2021.

The global Volleyball Family is very much looking forward to the next edition of the World Beach Games, and we will continue to work closely with ANOC and the event organiser to ensure an incredible beach volleyball 4X4 tournament.”
