CAVA BOYS’ U16 & MEN’S U19 CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025 KICK OFF IN TASHKENT WITH HIGH-LEVEL PERFORMANCES AND STRONG REGIONAL PARTICIPATION

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, June 10, 2025 – The Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) launched its highly anticipated Boys’ U16 and Men’s U19 Volleyball Championships 2025 on Tuesday, June 10 at the iconic JAR Sports Hall here. The opening day featured four exciting matches and reaffirmed the growing strength and depth of volleyball talent in the Central and South Asian regions.

The two events, which are being held simultaneously here in Tashkent, came immediately after the successful completion of the CAVA Men’s Nations League 2025 in Fergana, Uzbekistan, which drew wide regional attention and praise for its organization, competitiveness, and crowd engagement. The momentum from Fergana has now carried forward to Tashkent, where fans are once again filling the stands and cheering on the next generation of volleyball stars.

DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS – JUNE 10, 2025

Boys’ U16 Championship

 

Iran opened their campaign with a dominant 3–0 (25–17, 25–15, 25–17) victory over Kazakhstan. The Iranian squad, led by head coach Mr Adel Gholami, executed a precise and efficient game, using strong serves and calculated attacks to control the rhythm of play.

Their systematic approach and court awareness demonstrated why Iran remain a powerhouse in youth volleyball development.

The home crowd of over 400 supporters witnessed an energetic performance of Uzbekistan, which also secured a 3–0 (25–19, 25–23, 25–22) win over Kyrgyzstan.

Though the visitors fought bravely, particularly in the second and third sets, the Uzbek team’s combination of defense, attack variation, and crowd momentum proved decisive.

Men’s U19 Championship

Iran once again asserted their dominance with a sweeping 3–0 (25–16, 25–14, 25–20) over India. Standout performances from Mahdi Sakhavi, Asiyaie Armin, and Rafieirad Amirmohammad led to Iran’s clean and consistent play.

The team’s conversion rate on serves and attack success percentage (over 60%) reflected their tactical superiority. Head coach Mr Adel Gholami praised the team’s focus and maturity in post-match analysis.

In the final match of the day, Uzbekistan delighted their supporters with a 3–0 (25–19, 25–23, 25–22) win over a determined Kyrgyz team. The tight set scores showcased the balanced competition. Uzbek attackers Muratbaev Adilbek and Mamayusufov Shokhbo displayed powerful hits and smart placements, while head coach Branislav’s rotations ensured energy and consistency across all three sets.

The smooth and impactful execution of the recent CAVA Men’s Nations League 2025 in Fergana has set a new benchmark for regional volleyball events. With sold-out matches, extensive media coverage, and participation from top-tier national teams, the Nations League reaffirmed CAVA’s ability to deliver elite tournaments across various levels.
