Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, June 7, 2022 – China proved their superiority over Chinese Taipei to pull off a confident straight-set 25-16, 25-20, 25-9 win in Pool B at the 14th Asian Women’s U18 Volleyball Championship at the Nakhon Pathom Sports Center Gymnasium on Tuesday.
China came up in full strength in this match against Chinese Taipei, making use of the splendid offensive combination of Chen Xiyue and Wang Yindi, both of them chipped in with huge spikes. China faced no issues in shutting out the Taiwanese side in a lop-sided affair.
With the victory over Chinese Taipei, China bagged their first win in Pool B. Chen Xiyue weighed in with 21 points for China, while Shan Linqian and Wang Yindi added 12 points apiece. Chen Ssu-yu scored 10 points on the Chinese Taipei’s losing effort.
China will next play Philippines in their third preliminary match on Wednesday, while Chinese Taipei go up against Japan in a highly-anticipated clash.
