After winning the Newport Beach Elite on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour, the Qatari pair ascended two spots from the previous week’s shared fourth place. Meanwhile, the women’s gold medalists of the Newport Beach Elite Kristen Nuss & Taryn Brasher of the United States returned among the top four of their ranking for the first time in well over five months.

FIVB Beach Volleyball World Ranking – Men

Trending Cherif & Ahmed celebrated their second consecutive Elite gold last week, after their triumph in Rio de Janeiro last month. In Newport Beach, they earned their third Elite trophy this year and collected another 1,200 ranking points, netting 880 of them, after their ninth best result was dropped from their account. Thus, their ranking score improved to 7,480 points and they jumped from last week’s fourth place, which they shared with Argentina’s Nicolas Capogrosso & Tomas Capogrosso, to this week’s second place, where they stand 1,120 points below leaders Anders Mol & Christian Sorum of Norway.
