Zhangjiagang, China, August 20, 2025 – Hosts China and Korea secured the top positions in Pool A and Pool B respectively on Thursday, the second day of the Asian Eastern Zonal Men’s Volleyball Championship.
In the Pool A encounter between Chinese Taipei and Mongolia, Chinese Taipei delivered a balanced scoring performance from the opening set. Despite a superb individual display from Mongolia’s Batsuuri Battur, who tallied a match-high 26 points, his side struggled defensively and could not contain the well-coordinated offense of Chinese Taipei. Consistent teamwork allowed Chinese Taipei to widen the gap as the match progressed.
Chinese Taipei’s attack was spearheaded by Wen Yi-Kai and Kan Mao-Hung, who combined to put relentless pressure on the Mongolian defense and controlled the rhythm of every set.
Later in the day, hosts China faced Macao, China in Pool B. China’s Yu Xiang stood out with an impressive all-around performance, excelling in both offense and defense with a versatile technical display.
For Macao, China, Chi Kin Kuan once again proved instrumental, scoring valuable points through sharp attacks and steady play. His fearless approach lifted team morale and kept the contest competitive, adding further intensity to the encounter with the hosts.
