Czechia mount spectacular comeback to beat Slovenia in five
The second five-setter of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in Thailand occurred in a Pool D game in Nakhon Ratchasima on Sunday. On the 47th birthday of their Greek head coach Ioannis Athanasopoulos, Czechia came back from two sets down against Slovenia to celebrate victory in the tie-breaker and improve to a 1-1 win-loss record. For rookies Slovenia, it was the second loss, but also the first-ever point won at the World Championships.
