Fans packed the Social Center Indoor Hall once again, witnessing fiery contests and fierce determination.
MATCH #13: HNS vs SLP – Clean Sweep by Nepalese Might
Help Nepal Sports Club (HNS) overwhelmed Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLP) with a commanding 3–0 victory (25–16, 25–22, 25–23), cementing their semifinal ambitions with elegance and grit.
Jehan Murad led the charge with 21 points and an impressive 50.51% success rate in spikes. HNS displayed balanced dominance across scoring departments, registering 50 spikes, 4 blocks, and 1 ace. On the defensive end, SLP’s Darshana Chaminda put up a valiant effort with 3 kill blocks and 5 spikes.
With this win, HNS climbed to third in the overall standings, setting up a riveting Bronze Medal clash against SLP.
CLASSIFICATION MATCH (Match #14): DSC vs HDC – Epic 5-Set Thriller
In a battle of local giants, Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) edged past Club HDC in a breathtaking 3–2 match (25–22, 23–25, 25–19, 19–25, 16–14). Each set saw the momentum swing like a pendulum, with both teams displaying fierce determination and resilience, ultimately ending in jubilation for DSC after a nail-biting fifth set.
DSC totalled 108 points to HDC’s 105 in one of the most evenly matched contests of the tournament. Khan Afaq led DSC’s charge with 22 points, powered by 20 spikes. On the other side, HDC’s Hussain Shamaail stood tall with a remarkable 27-point performance, including 25 attacks and a tenacious serving run that kept the pressure high throughout the match.
The match marked HDC’s exit with a 6th place finish, while DSC secured 5th – a strong closure for both squads.
MATCH #15: ZHK vs BKZ – Zhaiyk Unleashed
Kazakhstan’s Zhaiyk VC (ZHK) unleashed sheer power and precision in a 3–0 annihilation of Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek VC (BKZ) (25–18, 25–22, 25–16), solidifying their top spot with 5 wins and a staggering 3.500 set ratio. ZHK’s relentless execution left little room for resistance, marking them as clear title contenders.
Erdshtein Vitaliy led the charge with 12 points, combining powerful spikes and sharp serves. ZHK dominated offensively with 40 spikes and 6 blocks, effectively smothering BKZ’s rhythm. Despite BKZ’s Shilov Roman putting up a fight with 5 kill blocks, Zhaiyk’s depth, discipline, and cohesion proved simply overwhelming.
Final Rankings after Round Robin
After five thrilling matchdays in the round robin stage, Zhaiyk VC (ZHK) from Kazakhstan topped the standings with 13 points, winning 5 out of 5 matches. They dominated the tournament with a 3.500 set ratio (14 sets won, 4 lost) and an outstanding 1.286 points ratio (423–329), clearly establishing themselves as the team to beat.
Bishkek VC (BKZ) of Kyrgyzstan secured second place with 11 points, winning 4 matches and losing 1. They achieved a 2.000 set ratio (12–6) and a 1.045 points ratio (417–399). Help Nepal Sports Club (HNS) also finished with 11 points, winning 4 matches and losing 1, but placed third due to set ratio criteria – 1.750 (14–8) with a slightly better points ratio of 1.056 (494–468).
Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLP) ended the round in fourth place with 6 points, recording 2 wins and 3 losses. Their set ratio stood at 0.800 (8–10), with a 0.924 points ratio (388–420). Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) finished fifth with 3 points from 1 win, showing a 0.429 set ratio (6–14) and a 0.912 points ratio (426–467).
Club HDC (HDC), despite spirited performances, finished sixth without any wins. They recorded a 0.200 set ratio (3–15) and a points ratio of 0.849 (365–430), rounding off the table.
