Stakes higher than ever with Olympic qualification spots on the line during Preliminary Phase
As anticipation builds worldwide, the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) gears up for an explosive start on Tuesday, with soaring ticket sales reflecting the worldwide interest in the sport.
The VNL serves as a global showcase of the best of international volleyball, with the stage set for an electric competition. The Women’s VNL kicks off on Tuesday in Antalya, Türkiye, hosting Pool 1, while Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will welcome Pool 2 from 14 to 19 May.
In Fukuoka, Japan, excitement is evident as tickets sold are nearing capacity. Approximately 32,000 tickets have already been snapped up for Week 2 Men’s VNL Pool, highlighting the enthusiasm for the event.
Japan’s men’s team continues to capture global attention, with an impressive 23,000 tickets sold for their appearances during the Men’s VNL Week 3 Pool in the Philippines, scheduled from 18-23 June. Fans will be delighted to hear that tickets are still available across the week, promising thrilling matchups with powerhouse teams like the USA, Brazil and France also featuring. The Philippines also boasts impressive attendance across the board, underscoring the growing popularity of volleyball in the region.
With Olympic qualification spots still on the line throughout the Preliminary Phase, concluding on 16 June for the women’s VNL and 23 June for the men’s edition, the stakes are higher than ever.

Meanwhile, the Men’s VNL is poised to begin in just over a week on 21 May, promising action-packed matches and thrilling competition.

The competition has become a must-watch event for volleyball enthusiasts around the world and this year is no different, as teams battle for the remaining spots at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
