Kyoto, Japan, May 18, 2025 – As anticipation builds for the third-place playoff between Japan’s Suntory Sunbirds Osaka and Iran’s Foolad Sirjan Iranian, as well as the championship final between Japan’s Osaka Bluteon and Qatar’s Al-Rayyan Sports Club, passionate fans are making the most of the exciting atmosphere surrounding the final day of the inaugural AVC Men’s Champions League.
The eight-day tournament, hosted for the first time in Osaka and Kyoto, concludes on Sunday with the awards presentation and closing ceremony, marking a historic moment for Asian men’s volleyball.
A large crowd has already begun gathering at the 8,635-seat competition venue, eager to witness the final matches and participate in the day’s festivities.
Fans are engaging in various activities ahead of the games. Some have toured the venue grounds, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, while others have lined up outside in hopes of catching a glimpse of their favorite athletes arriving. Although some supporters were surprised to find the team buses empty, with players having already entered the arena, their enthusiasm remained high.
Many fans captured memories by taking photos with event signage, decorative installations, and team displays, cherishing the opportunity to be part of this landmark event. Others browsed and purchased official tournament merchandise and team mascot dolls from on-site kiosks, bringing home a tangible reminder of their once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The first-ever AVC Men’s Champions League has made a strong impression with its excellent organization, marketing, and fan engagement. With its successful debut in Japan, the tournament has set a high benchmark.
