FIVB COACHES COURSE LEVEL 1 UNDERWAY AT FIVB DC IN THAILAND

Bangkok, Thailand, May 8, 2023 – The FIVB Coaches Course Level 1 is being held from May 8 to 12 at the FIVB Development Center Thailand, with FIVB Course Instructor Mr Bojan Mirkovic from Croatia theoretically and practically conducting the five-day course and Mrs Feng Kun, former China women’s national volleyball team setter and captain who steered China to the 2004 Summer Olympics gold medal in Athens, the FIVB Course Assistant.

    

A total of 29 candidates from 8 federations comprising Hong Kong China, Korea, Kuwait, Macau China, Philippines, Russia, Vietnam and Thailand are attending the Coaches Course Level 1 to learn necessary coaching matters including nature of volleyball as a team sport, role and moral principles of coach, rules of the games which include instructions for coaches and players, basic theory of training, basic technical skills, basic tactics and basic physical conditioning.

The Coaches Course Level 1 commenced on Monday, with Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, AVC Honorary Life Vice President and AVC Executive Director, and Thailand Volleyball Association President Mr Somporn Chaibangyang jointly presiding over the opening at the FIVB Development Center Thailand.

Also in attendance were FIVB Instructor Mr Bojan Mirkovic, 36, FIVB Course Assistant Mrs Feng Kun, FIVB DC General Manger Mr Issara Riddhisinha and AVC Development Coordinator Ms Mingkwan Pusiddusid.

In his welcome speech, Mr Shanrit has his high hopes on all course attendants to bring knowledge and experience from this course for future use.

“On behalf of AVC President Mrs Rita Subowo, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to TVA and FIVB DC to organize this FIVB Coaches Course Level 1. I Many essential items are necessarily required for being a coach and I think all course attendants can bring knowledge and experience from this course to apply for future use in developing your teams aside from supporting your career coach,” Mr Shanrit was quoted as saying in his speech.

“More importantly, it turns out to be a good occasion during this time as FIVB Instructor Prof Jose Inacio Salles Neto from Brazil, a  renowned strength and conditioning coach, is now conducting the FIVB Development Program, Seminar on Strength and Conditioning for Indoor Volleyball and Beach Volleyball in Thailand under the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment and I hope that you can observe that seminar as well. In addition, in 2024, the FIVB DC has planned initially to organize the Coaches Course Level 2 and Level 3. Those interested can look forward to the further update. Again, I congratulate on TVA and FIVB DC to jointly kickstart this course. Wishing you all a great success in this course,” he added.

Mr Bojan Mirkovic said, “It’s my great pleasure to work with TVA and FIVB DC again in Thailand. I hope that all attendants will get knowledge and experience from this course. I wish all of you a great success.”

TVA President Mr Somporn extended his sincere appreciation to all participants for their active attendance in the opening ceremony, citing that by joining the Coaches Course, they will learn a lot of things from FIVB Instructor Mr Bojan Mirkovic and the Course Assistant Mrs Feng Kun.

“This is a very good opportunity for all the attendants from different countries to exchange your knowledge and experience with each other and at the end of the course, you can bring back to your country the knowledge and valuable experience you will gain from this course in an effort of developing and promoting volleyball in your country. I strongly believe that all of you will enjoy the course. Please share your points of view and cordial friendship among each of you while in the course,” Mr Somporn said in his speech.

“Finally, I would like to express my sincere thanks to FIVB Instructor Mr Bojan Mirkovic and Course Assistant Mrs Feng Kun for your great effort and contribution. I wish all course attendants a very pleasant stay in Bangkok and the best result in the course. Let me take this good occasion to declare the FIVB Coaches Course Level 1 open.”
