FIVB DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, SEMINAR ON STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING FOR INDOOR AND BEACH VOLLEYBALL UNDERWAY IN THAILAND

Bangkok, Thailand, May 3, 2023 – The three-phase FIVB Development Program, Seminar on Strength and Conditioning for Indoor Volleyball and Beach Volleyball got under way at the Sports Science Center inside the Sports Authority of Thailand Complex, with renowned strength and conditioning coach and FIVB Instructor Prof Jose Inacio Salles Neto from Brazil conducting theoretically and practically for Thailand national teams.

Jose Inacio Salles Neto has been tabbed by the FIVB Technical and Development Department to strengthen the Thailand national team program in line with the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment. With the development support from FIVB to TVA, it’s quite certain that the FIVB Instructor will transfer knowledge of strength and conditioning aside from educating the Thailand national teams for both indoor and beach volleyball on its latest trends.

The FIVB Development Program and Seminar on Strength and Conditioning for Indoor Volleyball and Beach Volleyball is expected to help boost the performances and medal hopefuls of Thailand teams in their major campaigns including the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and Asian Games for senior teams as well as FIVB World Underage Championships for juniors.

Mr Somporn Chaibangyang, President of Thailand Volleyball Association, presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech on May 2, the kickoff campaign of the FIVB Development program for Thailand, which was held in line with the Empowerment, part of FIVB President Dr. Ary Graça’s Nucleus plan to empower and improve the technical level of national teams and athletes to provide them with the skills to play at the highest level and help them reach their full potential and achieve their goals.

The First Phase of the campaign in Thailand between April 30 and May 2 had been placed for an emphasis on theoretical session for Thailand national men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams, based on uses the ideas and abstract principles as well as important information backgrounds. A practical part was necessarily required for the women’s beach volleyball squad at the Physical Training Room inside the Sports Science Center.

 

The first three days of the theoretical training came to a close on May 2. TVA President Mr Somporn and Secretary General Mr Nattapong Kesapan as well as AVC Executive Director Mr Shanrit Wongprasert and AVC Secretary General Mr Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai attended the closing ceremony and presented certificates to all participants.

The seminar and practical part of the First Phase are now under way between May 3 and 5 at the training site in Sattahip, Chon Buri.

The Second Phase will be organized for the Thailand national men’s and women’s junior teams between May 6 and 9, with the seminar on the first day focussing on sports science research, physical fitness, biomechanics, physiotherapy, medical sciences and psychology. The practical learning of the Second Phase will be conducted from May 7 to 9.

After a rest day on May 10, the FIVB Development Program resumes with the theoretical and practical knowledge in the Third Phase for Thailand men’s national senior team from April 11 to 13.
