Stakeholders across the Global Volleyball Movement played a central role in shaping this global day of celebration
The incredible success of the inaugural World Volleyball Day on 7 July was made even more impactful through the actions and contributions of FIVB’s friends and stakeholders around the world.
Currently comprised of 222 National Federations (NFs), five Continental Confederations and 22 Zonal Associations, the Global Volleyball Movement reaches every corner of the globe, and many got involved in World Volleyball Day.
Their efforts not only amplified the reach of the day, but drove tangible impact across education, sustainability, youth participation and cultural empowerment.
Huge celebrations were seen across the Asian Volleyball Confederation NFs. For example, Volleyball Philippines celebrated the power of volleyball to unite and uplift communities and inspire a nation with a special feature at the SM Mall of Asia Globe.

The FIVB Volleyball Foundation and its certified projects also got involved, using the moment to promote ongoing initiatives in education, equality and sustainability. For example, the Brahmaputra Volleyball League took a unique approach by combining celebration with action. As part of their World Volleyball Day activities, over 1,000 children planted more than 1,500 trees across Assam, linking sport with sustainability and long-term community investment. Their work continues to show how volleyball can serve as a platform for positive change in society.
Professional players also took part in the celebrations, with many posting reflections on their social media platforms. For example, Australian three-time Olympian Kerri Pottharst shared a personal message reflecting on how much the sport has shaped her life and identity, posting:
“From this moment so long ago…to now…and with so much more to come. My life really is this sport and everyone I’ve met along the way… and this sport and everyone really is my life.”
