Malé, Maldives, July 27, 2025 – The FIVB Coaches Course Level 1 officially began in the Maldives on Sunday, July 27, bringing together 45 enthusiastic participants to enhance their coaching knowledge and technical expertise in volleyball.
The course, organized by the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM) under the guidance of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), is being held from July 27 to 31.
Leading the course is Mr G.E. Sridharan from India, a highly experienced and respected FIVB Instructor with years of involvement in international volleyball coaching and development. Mr Sridharan is supported by a team of qualified local FIVB coaches including Mr Mohamed Nadeem, Mr Fathuhulla Waheed, Mr Ismail Rifu, and Mr Nasrulla Thoha.
The primary objective of the course is to build coaching capacity and strengthen the foundations of volleyball both in the Maldives and the broader Central Asian region. Through a combination of theoretical lessons and practical training sessions, participants will gain valuable insights into modern coaching methodologies, athlete development, and the core principles of the game.
A closing ceremony is scheduled to be held on July 31, 2025 when the successful participants will be awarded with their certificates of completion.
This course marks another important step in VAM’s commitment to developing the sport at all levels and fostering a new generation of qualified volleyball coaches in the Maldives.
