FIVB PRESIDENT MEETS CHINESE OLYMPIC COMMITTEE AND VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION IN PARIS

The FIVB and Chinese sports leaders held productive talks during the Olympic Games

  • FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° meets officials from the COC and CVA at China House in Paris
  • Discussions focused on collaborating for the long-term development of volleyball in China
  • The COC commended the FIVB President on his strong vision for the sport

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° today met officials from the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) and the Chinese Volleyball Association (CVA) during the Olympic Games Paris 2024 to discuss several significant topics.

Joining the meetings at China House were COC Vice President and Vice Sports Minister Liu Guoyong, Eastern Asian Volleyball Association President and CVA Vice President Yuan Lei, and the COC Marketing Director Yu Jianyong. The FIVB President was also joined by FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo, Director for Asia and Oceania Luis Alexandre Pontes Rodrigues and Head of Beach Volleyball Yu Cao.

The discussions focused on collaborating for the long-term development of volleyball in China. Already a strong volleyball nation, China recently hosted the Men’s Volleyball Challenger Cup (VCC), where the national team qualified for next year’s expanded Volleyball Nations League (VNL).

The COC also commended FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° for his vision for the sport and the creation of Volleyball World, which has further grown the sport’s popularity worldwide.
