- HM King Carl XVI Gustav attended the evening session to cheer on Sweden’s David Åhman & Jonatan Hellvig as they secured their slot in the Olympic final
- HSH the Sovereign Prince Albert II of Monaco also visited to witness the biggest party of the Games
- President of the European Olympic Committees, President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and IOC Member, Spyros Capralos paid a visit to the volleyball venue
- An array of fellow Olympians came to cheer on the semi-finalists of the women’s volleyball competition
- The First Lady of Thailand graced the arena to see Italy take on France
Our Olympic Games Paris 2024 beach volleyball finalists are now known after an electrifying day of closely fought semifinal action at the South Paris Arena and under the Eiffel Tower.
International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach and his wife, Claudia Bach, today visited the iconic Eiffel Tower Stadium, where the fierce Olympic beach volleyball competition is currently unfolding. They were welcomed by FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F°, alongside FIVB Athlete Ambassadors and Olympians Madelein Meppelink and Louise Bawden.

The IOC President and his wife stayed to watch Brandie Wilkerson & Melissa Humana-Paredes battle out a tough win against Nina Brunner & Tanja Hüberli. They were presented with a match ball signed by the Canadian and Swiss pairs.

It was an action-packed day in the south of Paris too as the women’s finalists were decided!
President of the European Olympic Committees, President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and IOC Member, Spyros Capralos, paid a visit to the volleyball venue to see Brazil take on the USA in what was the first semifinal of the women’s competition.

Fellow Olympians were also in attendance for that match to see the two teams battle it out for a place in the final. Recently crowned Women’s Floor – Gymnastics Olympic champion Rebeca Andrade, Olympic bronze medallist – Women’s Street – Skateboarding Rayssa Leal and Olympic basketball player, Cristiano Felício joined the packed crowd to cheer on the semi-finalists.

Also in attendance was Olympic bronze medallists in the Men’s Shortboard – Surfing Gabriel Medina and Olympian, Bruno Rezende, who has just competed for Brazil in the volleyball competition in Paris.

The First Lady of Thailand graced the arena to see Italy take on France in the second semi-final of the day in the women’s competition, in which Italy claimed the win to advance to the final.
