FIVB VOLLEYBALL FOUNDATION SET TO INSPIRE HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN THROUGH MASS PARTICIPATION EVENT AT VNL FINALS

The Volleyball Foundation is excited to announce its upcoming mass participation project in partnership with the Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA), set to take place from 19 to 21 June at the Sports Authority of Thailand during the Volleyball Nations League (VNL). The three-day event will host hundreds of children to participate in various volleyball activities, learn from legends of the game and get inspired by witnessing the world’s best in action at the VNL Finals.

Young players will enjoy a truly unique and immersive experience, including attending training sessions of the teams competing in the VNL Finals, participating in a simulated full-production VNL rehearsal, and witnessing the women’s volleyball Drawing of Lots for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

As part of its mission to connect, serve and inspire global communities through volleyball to improve societies, the Volleyball Foundation will welcome 320 U12 and U14 boys and girls to experience a range of activities and get active through volleyball. This will include an exclusive opportunity to watch the Thailand national women’s team’s training session ahead of their quarterfinal clash against Brazil on 20 June.

Following the training session, the children will be able to play volleyball across 20 outdoor courts. Guiding them will be legends of the game, including Elizaveta Bracht, a two-time Olympic silver medallist and Volleyball Foundation Executive Director; Feng Kun, Olympic gold and bronze medallist from China; and Thailand national team players both past and present Nootsara Tomkom, Pleumjit Thinkaow and Amorntep Konhan. Additionally, Park Kiwon, the head coach of the Thailand men’s national team, will be on hand to share his years of knowledge at the top of the game.

Each ambassador will also share a story aligned with the Volleyball Foundation’s values. Tomkom, for example, will talk on self-belief and dreaming big. Kun will share the importance of teamwork in volleyball and in life.

Thinkaow will explore overcoming challenges and setbacks. Meanwhile, Bracht will discuss how experiencing the joy of the journey is just as important as reaching your destination.

Volleyball Foundation President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said:

“We are very excited to host this mass participation event for children in Thailand alongside the sport’s premier annual international competition. By bringing together the thrill of the VNL Finals and the wisdom of volleyball’s finest ambassadors, we aim to ignite a passion for the sport and instill lifelong values of teamwork, communication and perseverance in the hearts of these young athletes. This event is a vibrant celebration of volleyball’s power to unite and inspire, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity that will transcends the courts.”

On 21 June, the excitement will continue as the children get to watch Italy and the USA go head-to-head in the VNL Finals. Afterwards, they can apply what they have learned from the world’s best by participating in matches at the outdoor facilities, with a special trophy also up for grabs.

The Volleyball Foundation is excited to foster a vibrant, engaging environment for Thailand’s young athletes to learn from the best and experience the teamwork and inclusivity that volleyball teaches. This event is not just a celebration of volleyball; it is a testament to the sport’s ability to unify and motivate communities.
