Four pools of five teams decided
One of four age-category competitions to take place this year, the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship is scheduled to be played from September 20 to 29.
With the tournament to be held in Durango, Mexico, an online draw was held on Monday to split the 20 teams that will participate in the tournament into four pools (with one team still to be confirmed).
Results of the draw:
Pool A: Mexico, Cameroon, Serbia, Canada, Poland
Pool B: Italy, Turkey, Peru, Egypt, Dominican Republic
Pool C: USA, Romania, Nigeria, Thailand, Puerto Rico
Pool D: Brazil, Russia, Bulgaria, Argentina, Team 1
The competition in Durango, Mexico in 2021 comes two years after the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ World Championship in Egypt. That event saw USA, Italy and Brazil take gold, silver and bronze respectively.
