Fergana, Uzbekistan, May 31, 2025 – Day 3 of the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Nations League 2025 delivered an electrifying series of matches that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. With three crucial games played throughout the day, the tournament took a dramatic turn as teams fought fiercely to improve their positions in the standings and edge closer to the semifinals.

The day began with a tightly contested match between India and Turkmenistan. India, having shown great promise in earlier matches, came into the game with determination. Turkmenistan started strong and nearly took the first set, leading at several points, but India managed a thrilling comeback to take the set 29–27.

Turkmenistan responded in the second set, playing with aggression and precision to win it 25–21, leveling the match at one set each. However, India gradually found their rhythm, with players like Vinit Kumar, Saqlain Tariq, and John Joseph Eanthu stepping up to dominate the third and fourth sets. India won the remaining sets 25–19 and 25–18, sealing a 3–1 victory and securing their second win in the tournament.

With a total of 75 attack points and 15 blocks, India displayed a balanced performance, while Turkmenistan’s spirited effort was led by Veyisov Bayramgeldi and Hemrakulyyev Bagtyyar.

The second match of the day featured a Pool B battle between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. It was a tightly contested and high-intensity encounter that saw both teams trade powerful rallies and defensive grit. The opening set was a marathon, eventually claimed by Kazakhstan 31–29.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with Kazakhstan once again edging past their opponents 27–25. Refusing to go down without a fight, Pakistan came back to win the third set 25–19, led by Murad Khan and Afaq Khan who energized the team with explosive plays.

In the fourth set, Kazakhstan displayed superior tactical control and finished the match with a 25–20 win, taking the game 3–1.

With 101 total attack points and 12 blocks, Kazakhstan proved too strong in key moments. Boris Kempa and Vitaliy Erdshtein played pivotal roles in securing the win, while Pakistan, though falling short, showed depth and potential with solid individual performances.

Closing the day was a dominant performance by Iran against host nation Uzbekistan. Reigning champions Iran, unbeaten so far in the competition, demonstrated why they are the team to beat. From the outset, they controlled the tempo of the match with near-flawless execution. The first two sets saw Iran overwhelm Uzbekistan with set scores of 25–11 and 25–12, thanks to outstanding serves, disciplined blocks, and rapid counterattacks.

Uzbekistan, backed by a supportive home crowd of over 1,000 spectators, attempted a resurgence in the third set but couldn’t match Iran’s consistency and tactical prowess. Iran closed out the match with a 25–19 win, maintaining their perfect record in the tournament with a straight-sets victory.

Amirhossein Sadati and Ali Hajipour led the scoring for Iran, while Uzbekistan, despite the loss, showed glimpses of promise through players like Murobidinov Sajadj and Ismoilov Farrukh.

At the conclusion of Day 3, Iran led Pool A with nine points from three wins, followed by India with six points from two wins. Turkmenistan hold one win, while Uzbekistan remain winless.

In Pool B, all three teams – Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan—stand level with one win and one loss each, making the race to the semifinals wide open.
