FIVB also meet with Volleyball Empowerment supported national beach volleyball teams
As part of the ongoing preparations for the Philippines’ historic hosting of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025, FIVB President Fabio Azevedo also recently held a series of high-level meetings with government officials, sports authorities and key stakeholders.
These meetings form part of the FIVB’s commitment to working closely with its local partners to ensure the first-ever Volleyball Men’s World Championship in the Philippines is a world-class event with a lasting legacy.
President Azevedo, alongside Asian Volleyball Confederation President Ramon Suzara and Volleyball World Chief Business Officer Guido Betti, met with Senator Alan Peter Cayetano to discuss the broader sporting agenda and continued support for volleyball’s development in the Philippines.
The delegation also met with Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Patrick Gregorio, Senator Pia Cayetano and PSC Executive Director Atty Guillermo Iroy to explore the legacy of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, among other topics.
Additionally, the FIVB delegation visited the Nuvali Sand Courts, a venue that has previously hosted international events, including Challenge and Futures stops on the Beach Pro Tour. During the visit, they met with the Philippines national beach volleyball teams, which receive targeted support through the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment programme. As part of the FIVB Strategic Vision 2032, the discussions on transforming the venue into the FIVB Centre of Excellence were held.
