KOREA CLAIM OPENING MATCH AGAINST INDONESIA

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, January 7,2020-Korea overcame a sluggish start in the first set to beat Indonesia 3-0( 25-18,25-10-25-9) in  the AVC Women’s Tokyo Volleyball Qualification tournament at Chatchai Hall in Nakhon Ratchasima on Tuesday.

Korea team captain Kim Yeon Koung  said:“Indonesia did a very good job in the first set especially on attacks. But we tried to play our own game and put more pressure on them with our effective services and attacks  in the second  and third sets,so I am very happy to win in three sets.

“This is actually a very important tournament for us because we played in London and Rio so this will be the third Olympics for me if I can qualify. I am waiting for this the whole year and now I have to push myself and my team as it is really important for me ,my team and  my country”.

I love playing in Thailand as there are so my fans coming to support me and my team. I hope we will reach our goal in this tournament”.

Korea head coach  Stefano Lavarini  said“I am very happy and quite satisfied with my team performance today. But we need to improve match by match.

“We know that we must improve a lot as we don’t have much time to work together. Everybody came from  the clubs. We just had three weeks to prepare for  this tournament. But I am pretty sure that every match will make us improve  and stronger .Everyday we need to focus a lot to improve our game to our style. We will try win every match to get the ticket to the Olympics”.

Indonesia  team captain Tri Retno Mutiara Lutfi said“I think our team played very well in the first set but Korea read our game well and they came out very strong in the next two sets.

“We trained together only three days before this tournament because we played in the clubs in the country. I am so excited to play in this tournament as this is my first Olympic Qualification”

Tomorrow match I think it will be very difficult as well as we have to face Kazakhstan. They are a very tall team with good blocking. We lost to them last year but I think we can improve and play better.”
