KOREA POWER PAST HOSTS BAHRAIN TO FIGHT FOR FIFTH IN ASIAN MEN’S U18 CHAMPIONSHIP

Manama, Bahrain, August 3, 2024 – Korea will play for fifth place and crucial ranking points in the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship at Isa Sport City Hall C here on Saturday.

The Koreans pulled off a comfortable straight-set 25-15, 25-16, 25-21 win to earn their spot in their final classification contest for the 5th-6th places.

 The victors cruised in the game and were led by Seungil Lee’s nine points. Pyeonggang Shin added eight, while three players finished with seven in a balanced attack, including Junho Lee, Sehoon Im, and San Lee.
Jassim Madan had 15 points to pace Bahrain.

Korea will next fight it out with Thailand in the game for fifth place on Sunday, while the Bahrainis will face Chinese Taipei in the 7th-8th playoff match.

Meanwhile, at the second hall, Lebanon claimed their first victory in Bahrain on Saturday after producing a magnificent comeback 3-1 (14-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-19) win against Saudi Arabia in their 13th-16th classification contest.

The Lebanese fell behind in the first set, but battled back and claimed the hard-earned win.
Serge Chehab had 21 points to pace the Lebanese, while Mohamad Lazkani added 13. Azzam Alsubaie finished with 16 points for the Saudi Arabians and Saeed Mukhtar had 14.

Lebanon will battle for 13th place on the final ranking, while Saudi Arabia will compete for 15th position.
