LPBANK NINH BINH BOOK SECOND WIN WITH 3-1 OVER SAIPA CLUB

LPBANK NINH BINH BOOK SECOND WIN WITH 3-1 OVER SAIPA CLUB

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, September 24, 2024 – Vietnam’s LPBank Ninh Binh completed Pool B of the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship with a 3-1 win (25-16, 25-16, 17-25, 25-19) over Iran’s Saipa Club on Tuesday morning at the Chartchai Hall.

Captain Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen delivered another remarkable performance, as she made 27 points. Warisara Seetaloed from Thailand also helped with 13 points for the Vietnam club’s second victory in the competition.

LPBank Ninh Binh showed how much of a stronger team they were in nearly every aspect of the game. They ran their offense carefully, not finding the reason of having to rush things, and they played well in transition.

Saipa Club tried to find their rhythm, as they looked to their usual scorers: Aytak Salamat from the flank and Mona Derismahmoudi at the middle. They were unable to get into their pace, and gave away a number of mistakes. They tried to enlist their bench players to find other options.

The Iran club tried to keep up with the level of their opponents in the next set. They were able to stay abreast on the scoreboard, going after each sideout as they can.

LPBank Ninh Binh continued to play steadily to surge with a huge advantage. They imposed heavy serves to dispel any attempts of the opponents’ comeback in the second set.

Roles were then slightly reversed with Saipa Club establishing a good lead in the third set, while their opponents played to catch up. Mahsa Kadkhoda punched in key points to give the team a scoring and morale boost. The Iran club continued to send strong strategic serves, which found their receivers slow to scramble. They were also able to get some good blocks to their advantage, to help extend the match.

The Vietnam club showed firm resolve to reestablish control of the match. They quickly went to work, enabling their hitters for power plays. Up until the closing sequences, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen was still giving top-level volleyball, to help seal the victory in four sets.

Teams now await the results of the other matches in the Preliminary Phase to be completed Tuesday evening, in order to determine respective match-ups in the Quarterfinals.
