Canberra, Australia, January 23, 2020 – The 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medalists Chris McHugh and Damien Schumann will make their much-anticipated return as an home team at the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour Cobram Barooga Classic this weekend.
Chris and Damien haven’t played a tournament as a pair since the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2018. They head into the Cobram Barooga tournament as the top seeds.
The Japanese combination, which won two events on the FIVB World Tour in 2019 have been installed as the second seeds. They are one of three international teams in the men’s draw.
Paul Burnett and Marcus Ferguson who won the Queensland Open last weekend at Mooloolaba Beach will also be in action at Cobram.
The top seeds in the women’s competition are Stef Weiler and Britt Kendall who won the South Australian Open two weeks ago. Lucia Michalovicova and Michaela Mokrohajska have been installed as the second seeds, while in-form Christie Jenkins will team up with Laeke Gronfeldt.
