Nepal Police Club Secure Semifinal Spot on Day 5 of CAVA Women’s League 2025

Malé, Maldives — Nepal Police Club (NPC) booked their place in the semifinals of the CAVA Women’s League 2025 with a convincing straight-sets victory over Huraa Community Club (HCC) on Day 5 of competition at the Social Center Indoor Hall in Malé.

Backed by an energetic crowd of around 400 spectators, Nepal Police Club delivered a composed and controlled performance to defeat the host side 3–0 (25–19, 26–24, 25–16) in a match lasting 1 hour and 10 minutes, strengthening their position in Pool A and confirming their progression to the knockout stage.

NPC set the tone early, taking control of the opening set through steady serve reception and efficient transition play. While Huraa Community Club attempted to stay close with aggressive wing attacks, Nepal Police Club maintained consistency to close the set 25–19.

The second set proved to be the most competitive phase of the match, with Huraa raising their intensity and pushing the contest beyond 25 points. Despite the pressure, Nepal Police Club showed composure in key moments to edge the set 26–24, swinging momentum firmly in their favor.

With a two-set lead, Nepal Police Club remained focused in the third set, tightening their blocking and spreading their offense effectively to seal the match 25–16 and complete the straight-sets win.

Regmi Sumitra led Nepal Police Club’s scoring with 16 attack points, supported by Bhandari Usha, who contributed at both ends of the court, and Bista Kamana, whose all-round play strengthened NPC’s defensive structure. For Huraa Community Club, Veronica Zubareva and Valeria Khandromailo continued to lead the team’s attacking efforts despite sustained pressure.

The result marked the conclusion of Huraa Community Club’s pool-stage campaign, with the hosts earning recognition from the home crowd for their competitiveness, particularly in the closely contested second set.

With Day 5 completed, the tournament now moves into its decisive knockout phase. Two semifinal matches are scheduled for Day 6 (Monday, 9 February 2026) at the Social Center Indoor Hall.

The first semifinal at 16:15 local time will see Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan (Iran) face Hirdaramani Sports Club (Sri Lanka). Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan enter the semifinals unbeaten after a dominant pool-stage run, while Hirdaramani SC secured their place through consistent performances in Pool B.

The second semifinal at 20:30 local time will feature Turan VC (Kazakhstan) against Nepal Police Club, setting up a highly anticipated clash between Turan’s unbeaten campaign and Nepal Police Club’s disciplined, balanced approach.

With places in the gold medal match at stake, the CAVA Women’s League 2025 enters its most critical stage, as the region’s top clubs prepare to battle for championship honors in Malé.
