Manila, Philippines, August 27, 2025 – The newly-formed management team of the Myanmar Volleyball Federation (MVF) paid a courtesy call on Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) President Mr Ramon Suzara in Manila on Wednesday, seeking guidance and support as they chart a fresh course for the growth of volleyball in Myanmar.
The delegation, spearheaded by MVF Chairman U Ye Naing and joined by Executive Committee Member Mr Zaw Oo and Information Translator Mr Ye Khaing, visited the AVC President at the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Headquarters in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Mr. Suzara also serves as President of the PNVF.
In their meeting, the Myanmar officials candidly discussed the federation’s current rebuilding phase, acknowledging the challenges ahead while underlining their determination to move the sport forward. They emphasized their vision of elevating volleyball in Myanmar, from nurturing talent at the grassroots to strengthening the national program.
On this occasion, Chairman U Ye Naing earnestly appealed for Mr Suzara’s wisdom and mentorship, stressing that his support would be invaluable during this formative stage of the MVF. The talks concluded on a high note, with both sides expressing optimism and mutual satisfaction.
As the Philippines plays host to the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2025 from August 12 to 28, Mr Suzara presented Chairman U Ye Naing with a commemorative sports jersey emblazoned with the championship title across the chest, symbolizing the global promotion of the event.
He also handed over an AVC plaque to mark the occasion.
In return, the MVF Chairman extended a token of appreciation to the AVC President by presenting three framed artworks — a Golden Myanmar map, a portrait of Jesus Christ, and a symbolic Christian cross.
