Qatar men’s volleyball team continue their daily training stint in preparation for the 3rd Gulf Sports Games to be held in Kuwait from January 9 to 19, 2022.
All the selected elements will participate in the national team’s training, and the exercises will be held in two shifts, morning and evening, at the QVA Hall under the supervision of the technical staff led by Argentine Camilo Soto.
The Qatari national team will open their campaign in the tournament by taking on their Bahraini counterparts on January 11. The tournament will be held in a single round-robin system, with each team meeting the other side once. The team which bag the most points will be crowned the eventual title.
Meanwhile, the 5th edition of the Qatar National League, organised by Qatar Volleyball Association, kicked off on December 22 at the QVA Hall and will come to a close on January 18, 2022.
Nine teams are participating in this edition, divided into two groups. The first group comprised Al Sadd, Al Arabi, Al Shamal, Al Rayyan and Al Ahli, while the second group consisted of Al Khor, Qatar, Al Wakra and Al Gharafa.
Al-Arabi pulled off a straight-set victory over Al-Ahly 25-14, 25-17, 25-18, while the second match saw Al-Shamal rout Al-Rayyan in a one-sided battle 25-16, 25-16, 25-10.
