QVA ISSUES APPROVED HEALTH PROTOCOL DURING MATCHES

Bangkok, Thailand, February 10, 2021 – The Qatar Volleyball Association has issued the health protocol approved to deal with the emerging COVID-19 pandemic, as the Qatar Volleyball Cup is due to kick off on Thursday until February 19, volleyball.qa reported on Wednesday.

Top four teams in the Qatar Senior Men’s League comprising title-holders Police, runners-up Al-Ahli, third-place Al-Arabi and fourth-place Qatar SC will contest the Qatar Cup to vie for the top honour.

The QVA has earlier circulated to all participating Club teams the letter regarding precautionary measures guidance during volleyball matches, and based on Article (29-13) of the volleyball competition regulations for the current sports season regarding the need to take into account the application of any health precautionary measures or procedures issued by the federation, the Ministry of Health, Qatar Olympic Committee & Ministry of Culture and Sports.

In order to preserve the safety of players, officials and everyone involved in the competition and implement social distancing measures during Qatar Volleyball Cup matches, it was decided that entry to the match hall should be restricted to players, the technical and admin staff, and workers accompanying the team who underwent a medical swap test with a negative result only.

Furthermore, teams are not allowed to enter the hall until a maximum one hour before the start of the match, teams are not allowed to sit on the audience seats or stand in the corridors before the start of the match and teams must leave the stadium and the hall within 15 minutes after the end of the match.
