Roi Et, Thailand, June 22, 2025 – A certificate presentation ceremony was held on Saturday for 17 candidates, including 12 men, who successfully completed the AVC Beach Volleyball Referee Candidates Course conducted by AVC Course Instructor Dr Kritsada Panaseri, Member of the FIVB Rules of the Game & Refereeing Commission and AVC Referee Committee.
The course, held from June 15 to 21, featured theoretical sessions at the FIVB Development Center, Nong Ya Ma Community School, and practical training during the Asian U21 Beach Volleyball Championships from June 18 to 21. Participants from nine countries – Australia, China, Timor-Leste, Hong Kong China, India, Japan, Iran, the Philippines and Thailand – gained valuable knowledge, while exchanging experiences and best practices throughout the week-long program.
The primary objective of the course was to provide aspiring referees with the necessary theoretical knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience required to officiate beach volleyball competitions. Those who excel may progress to continental-level appointments and potentially be nominated for the FIVB Beach Volleyball Referee Course, marking the start of their journey toward a successful career in international refereeing.
The certificate presentation was presided over by Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA) President Mr Somporn Chaibangyang at the Nong Ya Ma Community School competition venue. Distinguished guests in attendance included Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, AVC Honorary Life Vice President and Executive Director and TVA Honorary Life Secretary General; Mr Songsak Chareonpong, Chairman of the TVA Referee Committee and former AVC Referee Committee Chairman; Roi Et Municipality Deputy Mayor Dr Nuchakorn Maschamadol; Technical Delegate Dr Kritsada Panaseri; and Referee Coach Ms Mariko Satomi.
TVA President Mr Somporn congratulated all participants on their achievement, wishing them continued success in their refereeing careers and a safe journey home..
