Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, August 29, 2022 – Five referees have been confirmed by AVC to officiate at the 3rd AVC Men’s Challenge Cup, which is being held at Sports and Recreation Complex Gazprom here from August 29 to September 3.
The six-day tournament, contested by the lower-ranked señor men’s national teams of the members of the continent’s governing-body AVC, attracted four teams comprising Saudi Arabia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and hosts Kyrgyzstan to vie for top honour.
According to the decision made at the 2016 AVC Board of Administration Meeting, all NFs sending their teams to participate in any Asian Volleyball Championship must each submit three international or candidate referees to the AVC in order that the AVC Referees Committee, chaired by Mr Songsak Chareonpong, will take into consideration for further decision. Only one from each participating team will be named the team accompanying referee.
Regarding the 3rd AVC Men’s Challenge Cup here, the AVC Referees Committee had already announced all accompanying referees who are now on their duties. They are as follows.
Mr Nurgazy Kokcholokov from Kyrgyzstan
Mr Zolbayar Ganbaatar from Mongolia
Mr Fakhraldeen Sami Mohammedamin from Saudi Arabia
Mr Saleem Ahmed from Maldives as accompany referee for Uzbekistan
Mr Kalykov Nurbek from Kyrgyzstan (reserve referee)
These five referees successfully underwent the referee clinic theoretically and practically on August 28, with all referees, line judges, scorers and announcer in attendance. The theoretical part took place in the meeting room at the competition hall, while the practical session was held at the competition site, with two senior men’s teams from Kyrgyzstan competing in demonstration match.
