Britt Herbots, Vicky Mayer, Zhang Jingyin and Petar Đirlić among the main stars of the final edition of the tournament
The final edition of the Volleyball Challenger Cup (VCC) is set to take place from 4-7 July in Asia, with the Chinese city Linyi and the Philippine capital Manila hosting the men’s and women’s events. The rosters for both tournaments have now been released (subject to eligibility check to be conducted by the FIVB).
Featuring eight national teams in each gender, the event, which will unfold in a single elimination format, will qualify the winners for the 2025 Volleyball Nations League, the first edition of the tournament that will see 18 men’s and women’s teams participate.

Set to play at home, the men’s national team of China will have outside hitter Zhang Jingyin as a key player in the VCC. Their opponents in the quarterfinals, Mexico, will count on outside hitter and team captain Mauro Fuentes to cause an upset.
Opposite Ferre Reggers will be the main name of the Belgian team that will start their campaign in Linyi against Croatia. Croatia will have their own high-scoring opposite in Petar Đirlić. Ukraine and Chile, who will face each other in the quarterfinals, will have outside hitters Evheniy Kisilyuk and Dusan Bonacic as their key players. The quarterfinals will also have a duel between Olympic-bound Egypt opposite Reda Haikal and Qatar setter Borislav Georgiev.
In the women’s tournament, Belgium will have scoring machine outside hitter Britt Herbots available in their opening match, against continental rivals Sweden. Sweden will not feature star opposite Isabelle Haak, but will have her talented sister, outside hitter Anna, in their squad.
Captained by talented libero Shara Venegas, Puerto Rico will face Olympic-bound Kenya, with opposite Sharon ‘Chumba’ Kiprono. Also in the quarterfinals, Czechia and team captain Michaela Mlejnkova will go against Argentina and setter Victoria Mayer. The fourth quarterfinal duel will reunite rivals the Philippines, who have setter Julia ‘Jia’ De Guzman with Vietnam, who have popular outside hitter Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.
