SEA Games Beach Volleyball: Women’s Preliminary Round completed 

December 18, 2025, Chonburi, Thailand – A pair of Golden Matches marked the completion of the Preliminary Round of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games Women’s Volleyball competition on Thursday morning at Jomtien Beach. 

During the last day of the single-round robin format, Indonesia needed to head to the Golden Match against Vietnam, to take the third place in the table.  Desi/Nur Atika (INA1) defeated D.T.M. Nga/M.H. Hanh (VIE1), 2-0 (21-18, 21-14). 

Vietnam 2 C.N.Lan/N.L.T.T. Vy came to avenge with a 2-0 win (21-18, 21-15) over Josephine/Bernadette Shella (INA2) to force a third match between the two NOCs. 

Indonesia’s second team Kaize Josephine Selvina Anasthasya and Herdanti Bernadette Shella stayed on to defeat Vietnam 1’s Din Thy My Nga and Mai Hong Hanh in straight sets, 2-0 (21-18, 21-18).

In Court 2, Malaysia ran the same story of heading into a deciding match. 

Chong E.H.H./Chan T.W. (SGP1) outplayed Aina/Aishah (MAS1), 2-1 (20-22, 21-17, 15-9), but with the second teams, it was Tasha/Auni (MAS2) who succeeded 2-0 (21-14, 21-8) over

In the Golden Match, Singapore 1 Eliza Chong  and Chan Tin Wing returned to the sands to face Malaysia 2 Mae Tasha and Nur Auni Maisarah Shamsulrizal. Malaysia picked up the 2-0 victory (21-7, 21-14) and officially completes their bid in SEA Games Beach Volleyball, garnering fifth place in women’s volleyball. 

The medal matches are scheduled on Friday, December 18, during the afternoon session. Vietnam and Indonesia take on the battle for bronze. Hosts Thailand will look to defend the title against the Philippines, who have already surpassed their best SEA Games Beach Volleyball record (bronze medal) by appearing in the women’s finale.
