SEPAHAN FOULAD END IRAN MEN’S SUPER LEAGUE PRELIMS WITH VICTORY

Tehran, Iran, February, 17, 2021 – In-form Sepahan Foulad, the team which are leading the pack in the Iran Men’s Volleyball Super League, ended their campaign in the preliminary phrase on a high note following a dramatic win over Amol Labaniat Haraz on Wednesday, iranvolleyball.com reported.

In Week 30, the final week of the preliminaries, Sapahan Foulad, which remained atop the standings with 21 wins against 4 losses, pulled off a thrilling 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 20-25, 25-23) win against Amol Labaniat Haraz on Wednesday.

The other teams which performed well up to their standards to claim victories at the end of the preliminary phrase comprised Tehran Paykan, Gonbad Shahrdari, Sepahan Foulad, Urmia Shahrdari, Hoursan Ramsar and Shahdab Yazd.

In one of the most breathtaking matches which ended in a closely-contested tie-breaker, Sirjan Foulad went down to Urmia Shahrdari in hard-fought five-setter 22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-25, 12-15 to be relegated to the fourth place of the standings.

At the end of the preliminaries in Week 30 on Wednesday, top eight teams of the table have earned their berths for the playoffs to be held at Federation Hall between February 23 and 26 in a home-and-away format.
