SIRJAN FOULAD RECLAIM TOP SPOT IN IRAN MEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE

Tehran, Iran, December 12, 2020 – Mohammad Reza Tondravan, the former coach of Doha’s Al-Arabi drove his Sirjan Foulad players to a breathtaking tiebreaker (25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-8) win against Ramsar Hoursan to reclaim the top spot of the Iran Men’s Premier League, iranvolleyball.com reported on Saturday.

From the low-ranked teams, Tehran Paykan moved up a step higher following an impressive 3-1 (25-16, 25-20, 22-25, 25-12) win against Ardakan. The victory came after their five consecutive losses which demolished them and the comeback in week 14 has revived the team.

The other significant change of the week 14 was also well-proven by Qazvin Shahrdari as they improved their place with a two-step jump to stay in 9th place. They defeated Gonbad Shahrdari with a magnificent come-from-behind 3-1 (30-32, 28-26, 25-22, 25-21) win in a hard-fought match.

The week 14 winners comprised Urmia Shahrdari, Qazvin Shahrdari, Sirjan Foulad, Amol Haraz Labaniat, Tehran Paykan, and Yazd Shahdab.

The week 15 encounters will be held on December 14 and one belated seventh-week match occurs on Tuesday, December 15.
