The Zonal Association’s annual meeting was held in Thailand
Somporn Chaibangyang from Thailand was re-elected as the President of the Southeast Asia Volleyball Association (SAVA) during the organisation’s annual meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand earlier this month.

Somporn Chaibangyang, who also serves as Thailand Volleyball Association President, and Candido Da Silva Pinto from Timor Leste were the only two candidates for the position following the deadline to submit candidatures. Following Candido Da Silva Pinto withdrawing his candidature, all the members voted to approve Somporn Chaibangyang as SAVA President for the next term.

The annual meeting, attended by the AVC and FIVB leadership, focused on discussing various activities during the past year as well as development plans and competitions in 2024. Members were informed that a total of 18 volleyball and beach volleyball events of Zonal, Continental and international levels were held in the region.
The competition calendar 2024 was also discussed with six beach volleyball and 11 volleyball championships and events scheduled this year.
