The action begins at 11:00 local time (06:00 UTC) on Thursday with 12 matches taking place in Tashkent. Yunnusobod Hall will host four matches, while the Sport University Center will feature eight matches across its two courts.

Host nation Uzbekistan will make its World Championship debut against Türkiye in Pool A. France, Iran and Korea, who each reached the podium in the last edition, also open their campaigns on Day 1. France will face Canada in Pool B, Iran will meet Spain in Pool C, and Korea will take on Cuba in Pool A.

This year’s tournament welcomes a record 24 teams, divided into four pools of six for the opening round-robin stage. The top four teams from each pool will progress to the Round of 16, also known as the eighthfinals.

Winners from that stage move on to the quarterfinals, while the losing teams continue in the 9th–16th place playoffs. The bottom two teams from each pool will compete in classification matches to determine positions 17 to 24. All teams will play through three final rounds to determine the complete ranking from first to 24th place, culminating with the bronze and gold medal matches on August 3.

Pool A brings together Uzbekistan, Belgium, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Pakistan and Türkiye. Pool B includes France, Bulgaria, Japan, China, Algeria and Canada. In Pool C, Iran headline a group that also features Italy, Egypt, Tunisia, Poland and Spain. Pool D includes the United States, Korea, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba and Finland.

Uzbekistan will experience a milestone moment as they take part in the Boys’ U19 World Championship for the first time. The team has made steady progress in recent years and now gets the chance to test itself against the best in the world, while also hosting a global volleyball event for the very first time.

Which team will rise to the top in Tashkent? With promising talent, strong traditions and new stories unfolding, the 2025 Boys’ U19 World Championship promises 11 days of intense competition.
