All top six teams in the women’s Daido Life SV.League in Japan will get to pick on someone their own size this weekend, as the seven double headers of the 14th leg unfold. Duels between number two and number four, between number three and number five, and between number one and number six in the current standings are guaranteed to spark lots of excitement on Saturday and Sunday.

Denso Airybees Koriyama will play host to NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki at the Tamura City Sports Park at 13:05 local time (04:05 UTC) on both competition days. Denso stand second in the table on a 21-5 win-loss ratio and the most points among all teams in the league, 63. The defending champions, on the other hand, are in fourth place on 16-8 and 50.
This will be the first time the two teams meet this season. The last time Denso managed to beat NEC was in November 2020. Since then, Red Rockets have built up a 10-game winning streak in the head-to-head series against Airybees.

Victorina Himeji will welcome Saitama Ageo Medics. The first match between them at the Sun Arena Sendai is on Saturday at 13:05 (04:05). The second on Sunday will get underway an hour later. Himeji occupy the third place in the current standings on 17-7 and 47, while Ageo are fifth on 16-8 and 49, just a point below NEC Red Rockets.
Historically, the two clubs have crossed swords nine times, but not yet this season. Ageo have won eight of these encounters, with Himeji’s only victory dating back to October 2020.

Table leaders Osaka Marvelous will pay a visit to Saga Hisamitsu Springs at the Saga Arena. 14:05 (05:05) is the starting time for both days of this double header. Osaka top the standings on 20-4 and 61. Saga are sixth on 17-9 and 53, having collected more points than each of the three teams above them in the table.
In the first double header between the two squads back in October, hosts Osaka took the full six points with victories by 3-0 and 3-1. The last time Hisamitsu Springs beat Marvelous was in March 2023.
Serving off at 13:05 (04:05) on both days, Astemo Rivale Ibaraki will entertain Kurobe Aqua Fairies at the Ikenokawa Sakura Arena. It will be the first encounter between the two teams this season. Kurobe have never managed to defeat Astemo within the 14 previous meetings between the two clubs. In the current standings, Astemo are seventh on 14-10 and 40, while Kurobe are third from the bottom, in 12th place on 9-17 and 25.
Eighth-placed Toray Arrows Shiga will face 11th-placed Okayama Seagulls, hosting the matches at the Shiga Daihatsu Arena at 14:05 (05:05) on Saturday and Sunday. Toray Arrows stand on 13-13 and 36, while Okayama are on 8-14 and 26. In November, the team from Shiga achieved two 3-1 away victories over Seagulls.

Inspired by Miyu Kawazoe, who earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at last weekend’s All-Star Game, PFU BlueCats Ishikawa Kahoku will travel to Queenseis Kariya for a clash between table neighbours this weekend. PFU and Kariya are ninth and 10th in the table, on 10-16 and 29, and on 9-15 and 28, respectively. They exchanged victories (3-2 Kariya’s way and 3-0 PFU’s way), when Blue Cats hosted Queenseis in November. Both of this weekend’s games at the Kariya City Gymnasium are set to start at 13:05 (04:05).
Scuffling at the very bottom of the table, Gunma Green Wings and Aranmare Yamagata will lock horns at the Yamato Citizen Gymnasium Maebashi on Saturday and Sunday at 14:05 (05:05). These will be the first encounters between the two clubs. Hosts Gunma trail bottom in 14th place on 0-22 and 1. Their visitors stand 13th on 2-24 and 8.
