Unbeaten teams strengthen chase for SEA Games Women’s Beach Volleyball gold

December 15, 2025, Chonburi, Thailand – Hosts Thailand and the Philippines firmed up their chances for a gold medal showdown after winning against respective opponents in 

Day 4 of Women’s Volleyball at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games. 

Titleholders Thailand took three points as the host teams won over the Singapore sides in Monday’s afternoon session at Jomtien Beach near Pattaya. 

Worapeerachayakorn/Naraphornrapat (THA1) seized straight sets, 2-0 (21-9, 21-11) over Chong E.H.H./Chan T.W. (SGP1).  Udomchavee/Numwong (THA2) also succeeded over Lee X.E.V./Ang H.Y. (SGP2), taking a 2-0 (21-14, 21-11) match. 

The Philippines likewise collected the full three points but had endure two deciders on Monday afternoon. Rondina/Pons (PHI1) had to pick up the win in the tie-break against D.T.M. Nga/M.H. Hanh (VIE1), 2-1 (21-18, 15-21, 15-10). Later, Rodriguez/Villapando (PHI2) sparked a scoring run in the third set, to secure the 2-1 win (22-20, 19-21, 15-10) over C.N.Lan/N.L.T.T. Vy (VIE2)

Thailand and the Philippines face off on Wednesday, December 17 in search of a sweep of the single round-robin format. With the competition formula, they are set to be confirmed to play in the gold medal match on Friday, December 19 as the two remaining unbeaten teams.
