Tashkent, Uzbekistan, June 16, 2025 – The curtains came down on a thrilling week of volleyball as the CAVA Boys’ U16 and Men’s U19 Volleyball Championships 2025 concluded on a high note at the JAR Sports Hall in Tashkent. With Team Iran clinching both gold medals, the final day was capped off with a vibrant closing and awards ceremony, attended by dignitaries from the Uzbekistan Ministry of Sports and representatives from the Central and South Asian Volleyball families.
Organized by the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) under the umbrella of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the event brought together the future stars of the sport in a week-long showcase of skill, unity, and competitive excellence.
BOYS’ U16
Iran Reign Supreme, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan 1 Claim Podium
The final day began with Uzbekistan 1 delivering a solid performance against Kyrgyzstan, securing a 3–0 (25–17, 25–19, 25–14) win in the 4th/5th placement match. The home side displayed improved coordination and determination, finishing the tournament on a positive note with their only win.
The gold medal match followed as Iran and Kazakhstan battled for top honors. After a tense four-set showdown, Iran emerged victorious 3–1 (25–19, 20–25, 25–16, 25–20) to complete an unbeaten run and clinch the title.
Iran’s setter and tournament MVP, Aidin Pouzesh, brilliantly controlled the tempo, while outside hitter Azhvan Namazi and middle blocker Maziar Fallahkharyeki provided the firepower.
Kazakhstan, led by Beibarys Yerkoksheyev and Yernur Yermekov, fought valiantly, earning silver after a commendable performance.

MEN’S U19
Iran Dominate Final, India Secure Bronze*
In the bronze medal match, India showcased resilience and power, overcoming Kyrgyzstan 3–1 (21–25, 25–14, 25–8, 25–23). India’s offensive strength was led by outside hitter Mahendra Dhruwe, who was later named to the Dream Team, alongside teammates Vignesh Shanmugam and Adarsh for their key contributions throughout the week.
The much-anticipated gold medal match saw Iran and Uzbekistan 1 go head-to-head in front of a packed house of 1,000 spectators. Iran displayed top-tier consistency and confidence, winning the final in straight sets: 3–0 (25–13, 26–24, 25–21).
Star opposite Amirmohammad Rafieirad earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, while Arshia Saedati led the court with calm leadership and precision setting.
For the hosts, Mamayusufov Shokhboz and Artyom Varzilov impressed with their attacking and blocking efforts, earning spots on the Dream Team.

The championship concluded with a grand closing and awards ceremony, held immediately after the U19 gold medal match. Senior officials from the Ministry of Sports of Uzbekistan, members of CAVA , team delegations, referees, and volunteers gathered to celebrate a successful tournament.
In their remarks, organizers praised the outstanding hospitality of Uzbekistan and the high level of competition displayed throughout the week. Athletes were commended not only for their performance but also for their sportsmanship and cultural exchange.
The ceremony featured the presentation of medals, trophies, MVP awards, and Dream Team plaques, followed by a group photo and celebration on court.
From the first serve on June 10 to the final point on June 16, the CAVA Boys’ U16 and Men’s U19 Volleyball Championships 2025 delivered top-level youth volleyball. The event demonstrated the depth of talent emerging across Central and South Asia and strengthened the developmental vision of CAVA and AVC.
With Iran claiming double gold and new stars emerging across all participating nations, the championship has firmly reinforced its place as a cornerstone in Asia’s youth volleyball calendar.
