Volleyball Australia (VA) recently announced the inaugural Australian Masters Beach Volleyball Championships which is set to take place on Great Keppel Island from 1-5 May 2022.
2022 will be the first year VA will run an Australian Masters Beach Volleyball Championships, and the first time a national event will be held on the picturesque Great Keppel Island.
Teams are invited to enter across the men’s and women’s pairs, men’s and women’s fours, mixed pair and mixed fours division, with the following Age Groups available: 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, and 60+.
VA CEO Andrew Dee said he is thrilled to be adding another event to the national beach volleyball calendar.
“This summer has been one of the most jam packed summers on record for beach volleyball in Australia, and we are excited to be adding another event to the calendar,” Dee said.
“The Australian Masters Beach Volleyball Championships is shaping up to be a fantastic event, and there is no better place to host the first edition than the beautiful Great Keppel Island.
“I’d like to thank Tourism and Events Queensland for their ongoing support, and look forward to seeing everyone at the Australian Masters Beach Volleyball Championships in May,” he said.
VA, in collaboration with Tourism and Events Queensland and Great Keppel Island are offering packages to the event, starting from $1300 per person.
