Tickets are now available to buy, with just under three months to go until four host cities welcome the world
Volleyball World has confirmed the four official venues that will host matches during the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship, set to take place in Thailand from 22 August to 7 September 2025. The tournament – already a historic first for Southeast Asia – will be staged across Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chiang Mai and Phuket, bringing world-class volleyball to four iconic cities.
The confirmation of venues marks a major milestone in the build-up to the 20th edition of the Women’s World Championship, which will feature 32 national teams competing under a refreshed format. More details can be found here.
In Bangkok, Thailand’s capital and its most populous city, matches will take place at Huamark Indoor Stadium, a venue with extensive experience of hosting international competitions. With a capacity of over 6,000, Huamark has regularly hosted events on the Volleyball Nations League calendar, including the 2024 Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Finals, capping off a record-breaking series.
Nakhon Ratchasima – a long-standing volleyball hub – will host matches at Chatchai Hall (MCC Hall at The Mall). A fixture on both the VNL and Asian Championship circuits, the venue is known for its passionate fanbase and consistent delivery of top-tier events.
In Chiang Mai, the World Championship will make its debut at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre, a state-of-the-art complex and one of the largest event venues in northern Thailand. This will mark the city’s first time hosting the international competition, but the host city is no stranger to hosting volleyball events, having held matches of the Southeast Asia Volleyball League and the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge in 2023.
Phuket will round out the lineup of host cities, with matches set to take place at the Saphan Hin Municipal Sports Complex. The city has a long tradition of welcoming international beach volleyball events, having most recently served as the host city of the 2021 FIVB U19 and U21 World Championships. The 2025 World Championship marks another moment for Phuket to welcome global fans of the sport.
As the most expansive Women’s World Championship to date, the 2025 edition is set to celebrate over 70 years of competition history, while embracing in a new era of innovation, excitement and global impact for the sport.
Global ticket sales will open on 28 May 2025, marking just under three months to go until the highly anticipated elite tournament. Preliminary team rosters will be announced on 14 July, with further event information to be made available on the official Volleyball World platform.
